Congratulations to the El Doado community for successful vote in May 2016 to invest in schools. The successful vote of the people authorized the District to proceed with the second and final phase of the long range plan. Phase one of the long range plan completed in 2012 provided for a new Skelly Elementary, a three section facility replacing the orignial Skelly Elementary and Washington Elementary serving the south section of the community, and new El Dorado Middle School providing state of the art eductional facilities. The final phase includes construction of two new elementary buildings to replace three existing facilities, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Grandview. In addition to the new elementary buildings, the District will repurpose the 1930's structure that was originally built to house the Butler County Community College and El Dorado High School and has served the District as the El Dorado Junior High School and most recently the El Dorado Middle School, into a Performing Arts Center.

A new elementary building is to be located on the former Galen Blackmore Stadium site and is shared by the current Jefferson Elementary. Once compteted, the new building will take the place of both Jefferson and Lincoln Elemetary schools serving the northrn section of town. The new building will be a three section elementary school that is designed to be expanded into a four section school in the future.

The second elementary will be constructed on a new site located in the north east section of the community. Once completed, the new bulding will replace the existing Grandview Elementary school. The new building will be constructed as a two section elementary school that is designed to be expanded into four section school in the future.

The Performing Arts Center will take advantage of the magnificant auditorium space associted with the 1930's building. The project includes raizing the classroom portion of the original building and re-purposeing spaces adjacent to the auditourum into performing arts venue. The art deco style auditorium comfortably seats 800+ and boasts beautiful detailing and desing of the era.

Gravity::Works has begun the schematic design of the elemenaty schools and performing arts center. The designs will proceed thorugh the Fall 2016 and on schedule to construction to be completed by August 2018.
